The Transit Oriented Developmentproject by CDC Asset Management, has officially marked its topping-out ceremony, completing its 34-story structural work in compliance of Eurocode 8 — the European benchmark for seismic-resistant high rise buildings. Located in the popular artisan food street of Bangsar, the project with semi-detached layout distinguishes itself further by proactively incorporating the more stringent building safety parameters for its home buyers.

Building Quality Homes for Residents’ Peace of Mind

“This milestone is a reflection of the entire team’s commitment to deliver a quality residence that is technically sound while structurally resilient,” said Andy Lau, Director of the Developer. “We are proud to integrate the higher structural standard like Eurocode 8, reinforcing our vision to build a quality home to our customers.”

“Besides, other invisible requirements such as better water proofing in bathrooms, all window frames, swimming pool etc. are adopted to less hassles and potential costs for customers and Management Corporation in the future.”

Engineering for a Safer Tomorrow

Though Malaysia is not traditionally a high-risk seismic zone, tremors from the Sumatran fault line and earlier 7.7 magnitude Myanmar earthquake event and its impact to Bangkok buildings have prompted some developers and consultants to reassess structural safety for projects in the Klang Valley.

“Eurocode 8 sets stringent criteria for seismic performance, focusing on ductility, energy dissipation, and structural redundancy. The Lantern Bangsar underwent dynamic analysis and seismic load modelling to ensure the structure could absorb and redistribute seismic energy effectively, reducing risk to life and property.” said Bruce Chan, Principal Engineer at EDP Consulting Group

The Lantern Bangsar’s Final Delivery Is Targeted at Q3 2026

Jared Chang, General Manager of the Developer, added “Today’s homeowners are looking beyond finishes and square footage, those invisible qualities mentioned are getting tractions too. It could be seen from our interactions with customers and our close to 80% taken-up sales, which reflected price itself is important but Value is also critical.”

As The Lantern Bangsar’s architecture work, lighting and landscaping works are rolling out, this lifestyle eatery Bangsar area full of pre-war colonial bungalows and shop houses is to be shining up again along the completion of the be-spoken high rise residence with its signature “Crown” on the top of the building.
